it was w-hin-die. We wondered if any rubbish on the beach would have actually been blown away! But we did a little litter picking, learnt some cools stuff on marine conservation. Had a press photographer spotting a camera savvy toddler in my little girl and spent about 10 minutes posing for him and got fed by the nice folks at Marks and Spencer. A good day. My older kids were pretty disppointed to miss it but M&S have thought of that! They have a great interactive site for school kids to go on, its safe, the games have different levels and the kids get to learn a bit about sustainable fishing and what methods are used for different types of fish. I was excited to show my kids the site but when they saw it, my daughter smiled and said 'oh i love this game, we play it at school!" Good to see the schools are using the site and teaching the kids these great messages about conservation. You can check it out here School of Fish
a pretty confused little pupply....'what is this place you have bought me too' He didnt stay bothered by it though especially when he discovered a discarded M&S sausage. First ever taste of sausage...hmmmmmm mmmmm
this is some of the food that didn't end up on the floor..though, of course, as is the law with all visits to the beach, regardless of how careful you are there is always going to be a mouthful of sand somewhere in your food.
This guy is from the Daily Mail and he asked us to pose putting some rubbish in a bin. Then i think he got the idea that M was pretty good at the 'look at the camera, look happy, put things in a bin' and we ended up doing about 10 minutes worth of the same thing. Good to know even the pros take lots of shots.
Its boring to go on about the weather right? yup.
But its been raining a LOT here lately...and today i embraced it, wrapped 'em up in water proof stuff and took the little ones to a walk with the pupply in a park.
Ive been really really noticing the 'green' lately...just the luminosity of it..its strange and sort of not 'real'..like someone has been out with a pantone reference and ordered this colour in.......like you can see that whole photosynthesis thing happening...
and thats BIG, HUGE..coming from me...because me and rain = not. good.

I know that it is cheating but i have to finish! *slight high pitched crazy lady voice* and its beginning to have that revision 'feel' about it. You know when you are doing anything else other than revision you feel guilty because you are frittering away time on something else.
Anyhow...this is a very loose rounding up of my April A2Z. Limping over the finishing line with a little bit of stretching of the meaning of the letters but my world is all about phonics now. Really, i have actually spelt something in phonics when i was in the bank once. yup. embarrassing.
X marks the spot. I know thats not strictly a word...but...X marks the spot and right now im tyring to work out exactly where that spot is...there are a couple of contendors right now and its a matter of sticking a pin and going. You have no idea what im talking about right?
Y - my youngest has just discovered how to say this. whenever i hear the letter y i think of the bazillion times i have been asked 'why' by my children and now my littlest girl can start clocking up her own little tally. I don't really think she knows what she means but its there... and there are days when you can take explaining the ins and out of everything you are doing to a toddler and days when you just can't. If you know what i mean!!
Zzzzzzzz - predictably going for 'sleep' - We have a lot of children and as most of us know, children do not come, sadly, with an inbuilt genetic ability to sleep and know how to get themselves to sleep. I know that there are so many theories on how to get kids to sleep. I have dipped into some of the theories in the beginning (maybe even read a chapter or two) but essentially what worked for us is a bit of 'controlled crying' for older ones and for the rest just ''Get as much sleep as you can through methods that involve not much actual getting out of bed!" yeah..great theory...*coughcough*
shoot me next time i sign up for something like this - deal?
this arrived and today was the day the "very excited' girls got to get their hands on it. A full review post to follow but if you can't wait we were sent this box by the lovely people at toucanbox.com
So im ashamed to say that a while ago the fantastic blogger domestic goddess awarded me a versatile blogger award...and i sort of forgot about it, i know the shame, no-one should give me anything!
id like to thank my parents, my husband, my kids, the dog, cat, hamster and mice....(last three of those i dont actually have unless you count those b***** mice that try to come live with us!)
So heres how it goes:
1. Thank the blogger who has awarded you and link back to them.
2. Share seven things about yourself
3. Pass the award along to 5 (or so) other newly discovered blogs
so seven things about me:
1. I have a certain 'way' of falling asleep. Right side snuggle in, left side fall asleep. All. the. time
2. I hardly ever watch TV on the actual TV. I usually use the ipad.. and the iplayer.
3. I find it hard to throw away my diaries away every year. I have no idea why..really
4. i was one of the 5 people in the world who used 'sun in' when i was a teenager. It went badly, badly wrong.
5. I can pretty much kill any plant of any kind.
6. I have sarsons vinegar on brussel sprouts. Something my grandfather passed on. it works. try it.
7. I have recently discovered green leaf tea. Especially infused with early grey.
those are my everso slightly boring seven points about me and now 5 other bloggers..here we go. These are my fellow ten on tuesday-ers. A couple of them are very new to blogging so go and show them some love..
Im a worker-bee. Wife, mama to 5 kids, yes they are all mine, yes i know how it happened & we do have a TV! ;) Part time NICU nurse, I do love my job but don't always like the NHS a whole lot. I am a photographer and observer of life. Some days I feel like I know what im doing and others I wonder who left me in charge of all these kids! I believe that cake should be its own food group. Id like to be on large aeroplane flying somewhere hot or cold just not grey.
